Check my heart
New song by The Pastels! Great tune and amazing video with such a nice Glasgow feeling. Me and my friends are in it dancing too, such a great time. Looking forward to the new album. And also me and Stephen are gonna try to finish off that interview we did a few years ago now. It will be a good read. X

Gummy Stumps
One of my favourite acts in Glasgow. Check out the New House Whites page for more information!
"New Gummy Stumps album. recorded at Green Door Studio and Bridgton practice centre, both in Glasgow March 2012.
Download the album 'pay what you like' from http://newhousewhites.co.uk
The physical release is limited to 10 works commissioned by Glasgow International Festival of Visual Arts 2012. Each consists of a single sided acetate dub plate housed in a specially made hinged wooden box hand painted by Rob Churm. The inside is indented to hold the plate and lined with different coloured felt.
Each plate features a selection of tracks which make up the complete works and are the only analogue copies in existence. There is a printed booklet enclosed in every box, each one featuring Rob Churm drawings and Colin Stewart/Churm's lyrics for each song on the album.
The music is new and improvised material by the Gummy Stumps.
Most of the tracks are engineered, recorded and mixed by Emily and Stu at Green Door Studio. Others are recorded in a practice space in Bridgton and mixed with other audio recordings by Colin.
These can be bought for £350 online at http://www.culturelabel.com/rob-churm-limited-edition-record.html"
This information was first publish on youtube under the video.

I must say that Vivian Girls did a great year 2011. Their album Share The Joy is amazing! I saw them live once during the year in Glasgow and did a interview with Cassie Ramone (featured in the latest zine). As well they released the 7" I heard you say which include one of my fav songs I won´t be long. Otherwise I really enjoyed the Glasgow scene with bands like Gummy Stumps, Palms and Golden Grrrls. Nightschool Records have done some great releases as well. And not to forget, the great Ian Svenonius and the chain gang. DI
